Water pump not shutting off

Got the land yacht out for the first time this year. We turned on the water pump and all the sudden we heard water coming from behind our washing machine. I turned the washing machine valves off and turned the pump back on. Then the water heater pressure valve started blowing off.

So, seems like the issue is the water pump pressure switch is bad because the pump will not shut off when it builds pressure. I just replaced it less than two years ago with one of these...Amazon.com : FloJet 02840100A Marine High Volume Water System with Accumulato...  because the old pressure tank was shot and the pump kept short cycling.

Doesn't look like the pump pressure is adjustable. I still have the old pump. Guessing I will swap the new one out for the old pump, unless you guys have a better idea?

Could the hot water tank pressure valve be the problem, and the water pump never reaches pressure switch open set point?
How about putting a hose thread cap on the hot water tank valve, and make sure there is not another water leak somewhere else.
Water pump may then reach shut off set point.
Would think water pumps may not create enough pressures to trip a working hot water tank temperature - pressure valve.

You can replace the pressure sw on the pimp its self. They can be had from Amazon. I had the same thing going on awhile back.

Thanks for all the responses...apparently the pump was on it's way out. Completely dead now. Good thing I kept the old one. I'll be reinstalling it. Really ticks me off...this Flojet pump is only two years old. The original one lasted 23 years. Anybody have a recommendation of a better brand?

And no, the water system is working fine on city water, so the water heater blowout valve is working as it should.

Another question though, we are plugged into 50 amp, running our water heater on electric and the water is scalding hot. Never been that hot before. Does this mean the water heater is on it's way out too? I can't remember if the water heater has a thermostat on it?

Sounds like your tempering valve in the Aquahot cabinet is faulty.

No,
I don't have Aquahot. It's just a water heater with the electric, propane or engine heat options.

If it is an Atwood water heater I believe the thermostat is on the back of the water heater, unless someone installed what is called a hot rod, which is an element installed in the drain hole.

We have the Atwood gas/Electric/ engine heated water heater and the electric hot water is way hotter than the gas heated water
