E-trailer XHD tow bar review

My Blue OX Avail 6,000 pound tow bar was showing some wear and it was outside the window of a factory rebuild. I bought an e-trailer XHD 10,500 rated easy release tow bar as my replacement.

I've towed with it several thousand miles. It is manufactured by Demco and it has longer arms than my Blue Ox, doesn't bind as much, has nearly 60% more tow capacity, and has the ability to flip the mounting head for a 2" height increase. This puts the tow bar alignment dead on for my Colorado combined with a 3" lift hitch extension. The hitch sits a bit low on my 98 U270 for matching up with my Blue Ox baseplate.

I like the tow bar which is self supporting and has a handy stow system, but you need a cover if you plan on going down the road with it stowed. My Colorado was a little close to the weight limit of my Avail tow bar. I had to add an extension to the safety chain to reach the coach because of my hitch extension.

Looks nice ... like that it has guides for the break away cables.

Where did you get those red handled pins that fit the blue ox base plate pins?

I got them at Tractor Supply. I use two keyed alike padlocks to secure them. The holes fit a standard pin.
