Oil Filter Power Tech on 2001 320

Changing fuel filter on the generator this morning I was reawakened to the fact the NAPA 3390 Filter does not work, reason, the 20 X 1.5mm thread is too short to engage the threads in top of filter.
Found this before but forgot until I tried again this morning to use the NAPA 3390.
Upon going through the filter book cross reference, found the NAPA 3395, little larger dia. and length, but it works fine. 
The other filter I have been using is the Fleetguard FF42003 Plastic job, it works fine also unless  you want to stress test the plastic threads.
