Windshield washers not pumping fluid

When I went to use my windshield washers yesterday no fluid was coming out of the jets.

Tank is full.  Could it be the pump?  Suggestions welcome.  C'mon Power Ball.

None at all on either jet?
If you are getting fluid at any jet ,it might be the jet being clogged.

No fluid on any jet could be the pump but dont overlook a loose connection.
You will need to use your volt meter to check for 12vdc on the pump to be sure.

Your lines are probably clogged. That happens if you sit too long. Disconnect the line and blow it out with a small shot of air. You can hear the pump work if it is getting power. If it is on and you are not getting fluid it is the line. you can also see if you get power to the pump if it is not running.

Do it one step at a time.

Been there and done that one already.

Do the testing with Engine on or just key on?

Thanks

I think you can use your wipers with just the key ON.
So you should be able to read the voltage in that condition.

Most washer issues surround using water instead of windshield washer fluid, water will corrode the nozzles where the W/S fluid does not.
Most issues go back to clogged nozzles.
Might check.

We are good to go on the washers.

I checked to see that it was getting 12V power.  It is. Pulled apart hose from tank up to small valve and blew it out.  It is now working.

I don't use water.  Only the blue stuff in bottles that I swear is a profit center for most filling stations:).

FWIW, I had to replace the fittings on my windshield washer because they had broken off where the sprayer was located at the end of the arm as well as one of the bulkhead fittings.  A short time later I then had to do the same thing on my '96 Miata.  Instead of getting new parts for the Miata I went to a Mazda wrecking yard where they told me that the alcohol in the windshield washer fluid was responsible for the plastic deterioration.  The alcohol is used to prevent freezing.  Not all plastics are the same and maybe some are not affected by the alcohol.  Living in the far south where it rarely freezes allows me to just use water.
