Different brands of diesel fuel--different MPG??

Years ago, when traveling from school to home and back (170 miles each way) every other weekend I tried all the available brands of gas and kept records of my MPG. (Pure brand of gas gave the best MPG) I am wondering if anyone has determined if there is a discernable difference in diesel fuel MPG. Power??

Not related to "brands", but there are clear differences in the BTU content of different kinds of diesel.

The old "higher sulfur" diesel had more BTU's per gallon than ULSD.  It is not the sulfur that added BTU's, but the process used to remove the sulfur reduces the BTU content.

Summer grade diesel (#2 diesel) has more BTU's than winter grade (mix of #2 and #1 diesel).
