Filter/Dryer

Dear FT folks

I have a 2004 U320 build #6260 I need to change out the filter/dryer on the dash A/C  Can anyone tell me the manufacture and # number of the filter/dryer? There is no number or mfg. on mine.

Thank you for any help.    Karl

Karl' I'm A little confused about your question on the filter dryer. With most A/C systems "filter dryers" are in the refrigerant sealed system. Is this the filter you are asking about? If so you need to evacuate the system with gages, remove the filter, re-solder (high temp or hard) in the filter, evacuate the system again the recharge the system. Or are you talking about an air filter.

Dear Karl
This is the filter/dryer that is mounted next to the condenser It is on the low side of the freon loop. It has a low side switch mounted on the top of it.

It has no mfg. name or number. I called FT They give me a number 3520-016 but no mfg. name.

Thank you  Karl

Karl,

I checked our coach info (the multi-page list of part numbers in the owner's box), the condenser is made by SGM.  That might be a starting place for the dryer.

Hi Michelle

I have that list that shows SGM as the dash AC. source. I tried to log-on to SGM with no luck. Maybe if I knew what SGM stood for that it would help. Tonight I well  keep looking. I received a part number from FT    3520-016 they did not know the mfg. but it dose not cross over to any other number.  I also ask FT for as-built-drawings for the dash HVAC  but they do not have.

Thanks Michelle for all your help.  Karl

Hi Karl,

I Googled it (sgm condenser dryer), and SGM appears to be a vehicle air conditioning company based in Mentor, Ohio.

S G M Co., Inc. - Mentor, OH - Automotive Air Conditioning Systems

Hope that helps,

Michelle

You might remove it, and go to a truck parts store. More than likely it is common to more than just F/T, the manf is not important as long as the fittings and mountings are the same, and it is for 134A.

Karl,  You must be having dash a/c problems, or why would you be wanting to change the receiver dryer.  We have an 03 designer and I have just been through the entire a/c systems in preparation for an extended trip to St. Louis, Memphis, Nashville, and Louisville.  I am very familiar with the a/c systems on these coaches, and have 40 years experience in the automotive industry.  I would be very glad to help you with whatever problem you have.  Feel free to call me any time.  I hope I can help you as many on this forum have helped me.
