Room in switch

Well my saga and dislike of slides is continuing. I have learned way too much about the 01version slide system. From the bad board on a new HWH system to an unknown 40 amp fuse to side delimitation to learning about the room in sensor in a rest stop in Alabama.

The room in sensor is a black probe that hangs down from the block. If the slide comes in but will not pin, it is either the "room in" sensor or the 3500psi sensor.  I adjusted the room in sensors and switched them to see which one was bad. It took a while but Mike Rogers over at MOT walked me through it yesterday.

If your slide comes in but will not pin, look at your lights underneath it will show either green or yellow and you can see if it is the sensing room in or not.  If not I had to remove the header and send the slide out and the adjust the sensor as low as it can go and then it pinned.  I hope it will pin when I run It out and back later today at home.

From the number of posts on this and other forums it looks like the engineering for reliable slide operation has a ways to go yet.
I sometimes feel like I would like to have slides but most of the time I am glad that I have other items to worry about that are an easier fix.
Am I to conclude that the problems with slides are mainly CONTROL issues and that the slide itself is not a big problem ?

Yes. I agree if the problem involves a $3500 delamination repair. Fortunately, there have not been a lot of these.  Unfortunately, we bought one of these coaches.  Just the luck of the draw.

George, there are more than you know. I was in Nac this past week and saw an 01 and went and looked and sure enough he had it and it was even leaking inside. He did not know he had it though. It is an issue that FT should address and cover.
I am home now and the slide went in with no problem. It was a long afternoon in a hot rest stop but most of the work was done inside with the AC on and the generator providing nice reliable power.
