HWH Reset and Auxiliary Compressor
My FT sets right outside my home on a nearly level site, hooked up to continuous 30amp shore power, in a damp environment. The effects of this year's La Nina in the Puget Sound area are well underway. I'm including these facts in case they might be related to answering my questions.
But I took advantage of an only slightly rainy day two days ago to give the coach a thorough washing. While I was rocking the rig from the roof, the auxiliary air compressor went on. I took the rocking and the compressor starting up to be related events, probably expectable, to correct some small error in leveling exposed by my motion.
Forty-five minutes later, the compressor was still running. This didn't seem right, and in what was by then a downpour, I could not detect leaks by my cursory listening to the air bags and slide bladder. On my way to look at the compressor, and perhaps to disconnect the in-line fuse there as a temporary fix, I decided, on impulse, to first see what would happen if I hit the HWH reset button in the coach. I punched the button - and the compressor went off. Coach was level at that time, and still is. Compressor has not restarted on its own, and I have not yet dropped some air from the bags to test if it will start again, and if so, stop inself when appropriate. Fortunately there has been good recent discussion of the compressor on this Forum, and I will use it to help me if things don't seem right.
But here are my questions now. Were hitting the Reset button and having the compressor go off related events, or just a freaky coincidence? If related, was it predicatable? If predicatable, is the relationship purposeful, benign, or can I expect some negative consequence from this action?
