Spot Light

The spot light on my 95  U280 is not operating correctly.  I seldom use it but I would like to have it working.
Some how it got pointed to the left and I cannot get it to return to straight ahead.  I can hear the motor working but it stalls short of straight ahead.
Before I begin to take it apart to see whats happening has anyone had this problem ?  How did you fix it ?  I hate working on the front roof area of a GV as there is no where to sit or stand to reach the spot light or marker lights.

Try having someone giving a very light assist on the light housing while you turn your directional control inside toward the direction you want it to go. Occasionally, if it is a worm gear drive attached to an electric motor, the worm can overtravel and hang up on the rack. You cannot "backdrive a worm/rack system but the additional help might get the drive back where it can drive the rotational motion of your spotlight.

Again, not sure what drive you have inside the housing, but try it.

I had to 'shim' the gear wheel to snug up the gear match. I used hard cell foam cut from a pool noodle
