Morris,
Many on this group purchase their filters from filterbarn.com

I don't believe there is much performance difference between the brands/manufacturers.

WIX and NAPA are identical, made in same plant in Roanoke Rapids, NC
Difference between the two, WIX uses a 5 digit # and NAPA uses  4 digit #, when you remove the first # on a WIX, you have the NAPA #.
Fleetguard is by Cummins and a good filter
Donaldson is a good filter
Use Fram in am emergency only, or better wait .
Everyone will argue, so do what you like.
FWIW

Layman's answer.

NAPA is supposed to have good quality filters, but I agree with Peter.  Unless one buys el cheapo filters I don't think there is a lot of difference..

I've also bought Baldwin filters from Filterbarn, and they are fine too.  I would never use Fram filters, except maybe on a push lawn mower :)).

Do make sure that whatever filters you get are all metal.  Had a Fleet Guard fuel filter (spin-on) installed on our generator that was all plastic, and it failed dramatically about 3 months after installation, with several gallons of fuel on the ground before I noticed - probably was overtightened, and the threads failed.  Now I know :'(.

Has anyone made purchases from Precision Filtration Products in Pennsburg, PA  (www.precisionfiltration.com)?  If so, what has been your experience with them and the quality of their filters?

I got a quote from them today for filters for the Isuzu diesel engine on the Power Tech diesel generator set.  Their pricing is as follows:

Oil filter        filter number B179              12 each per case  $3.70 each  $44.40 per case + shipping
Fuel filter    filter number BF954            12 each per case  $3.62 each  $43.44 per case + shipping
Air filter      filter number PA1865-FN        1 each                  $10.24          $10.24  + shipping
                                                                                              Total          $98.08  + shipping
This seems like fairly good pricing, but I do not know who makes each filter nor anything about the filters nor the company.

If you have had experiences with the company or the above listed filters, I am very interested in hearing what your experieces have been.

Thank you very much.

The first 2 are Baldwin Filters.
For good pricing check

Thank you very much.  Based on the filterbarn look up, it appears the air filter is a Baldwin filter also.  Are the Baldwin filters as good as the Fleetguard filters?
