hwh control box location 94 225

Even with topics available on this subject as for as I can see I don't know where the control box is located. I believe I have a fuse blown because when turned on ,the motor runs but jacks don't kick down and nothing else happens. I don't know which system this is on this 1994 U225 with cummins engine. HWH Operators Manuals for Foretravel  Am sure you want the 610 Series.

The brake must be set and you have to be in park or neutral.  If the motor runs, but nothing else happens, I am willing to bet that you need hydraulic oil or have a bad pump.  Check the fluid level firest.  You should use the HWH hydraulic oil.  HWH has great customer service.  (800)321-3494

Oh, my coach sets just a tad low for the jacks to kick down without hitting the ground.  The coach height is at proper height.  I have not done any adjusting of the jacks yet.  Made 6 tire ramps out of 2"x10"x 2' which I drive up on.  Then I activate the jacks.  Works well.

Tommy,
  On my 93 it's under the couch. There are several fuses. You can get at them with the couch up but it's a tight fit. The leveling plate for the system is also under the couch. To get at the fluid tank I had to remove the right side grill. If yours is like mine, be prepared for some tough going on those little grill screws. I replaced mine with stainless steel ones when I put it back together. Mine was a quart low btw. I used ATF as that's what was in it already (red color and OK according to the HWH documentation). That little deal on top of the tank is the dip stick. You have to remove the little top hat and filter, unscrew the stick and go for a level line between the two marks. Good luck. EXCELLENT coverage on the HWH leveling system on the 1993.

The only thing I would add is to check that the grounding of the motor is clean and tight.  I added a ground strap (just bought a 2' battery cable at auto parts house) and connected to good chassis ground.  Better than just grounding through the bolts alone. Of course check that the pump/motor mounting bolts are tight as well.

Thanks Pat and Jor for info and pic's. I found control just where you said under couch and I had 4 blown 10 amp fuses, caused probably by overcharging while coach was putting out up to 20 volts, bad isolator. Jacks pop down now but I do have a leak on reservoir cap which I hand tightened twice but I guess I will have to use wrench. Thanks again tommy t. tommytstrat@yahoo.com

Tommy,

You may have the reservoir overfilled. 

Check it with the jacks retraced for at least 10 minutes AFTER using the proper stow procedure.

Proper stow procedure:

Turn on ignition/start engine.
Turn on HWH panel.
Hit "Stow"
MOST IMPORTANT-- DO NOTHING ELSE.  The system will turn itself off after a few minutes (less than 10).  This allows the fluid to all flow back to the reservoir.
