Bathroom skylight

I'd read about the A2828D8 skylights at Home Depot, but a visit there got us odd looks and we found that their skylights were not compatible. Guess I'm gonna have to call FT.
I bought my new skylight from FOT and it is not the same as the old one. That company is out of business. It fits OK but it is clear and let's in a bunch of heat. You may want to paint before installing it to cut down on solar heating.

I bought some sunscreen material, cut it to size and put snaps on the corners.
On the skylight I glued the other side of the snaps.
It has helped keeping some of the heat out.
If it gets too hot I have a piece of 2 inch foam that I put up inside there.

hey Kent, for what it is worth:

When I needed to get privacy for a bathroom but still let in light I would take an orbital sander and some very fine Emery cloth or sandpaper and "fog" the window until it was opaque. This would definitly work on a plastic bathroom skylight and reduce the sunlight factor.

I think yours is an excellent solution.  I will keep that in mind for the day our skylight needs to be replaced. It is only a matter of time.

A light coat of white spray paint still lets in plenty of light but keeps the shower much cooler. At least that's what I read in one of the trade Magazines.

My new 2 me U300 has the old style sky light.
