side of the generator....I seem to remember seeing it between the front whels,  but I have been all over in there while greasing the chassis,  and I can not find it!  ideas, ie specific ideas....It is on a 99 u320........

Dave,

You have a Racor R12T filter that is available many places.  I have seen them mounted close to the Aqua Hot and close to the fuel tank depending on coach builders choice.

I don't know where Foretravel mounted yours but Roger Berke might know.  You can message him from this forum if you wish.  Keith Risch on the forum may know also.

Dave,

Yes, that's the A-H filter.  It's located in the middle of the second bay.  You have to pull off the middle section of the rear sidewall to reach the A-H, then remove the A-H cover.  The fuel filter is on the left.

Most of the 99 Fortravels that I have worked on have the fuel filter in the first compartment under drivers seat.  Mounted up high on the left hand side.  Looks like this:

well, that is the filter alright, but it is not under the drivers seat, and in the aquahot compartment the only filter was a plastic automotive type that I already replaced....thanks for all the help, I have not given up by any means, but I am really scratching my head....

Some of the Aqua-Hot units will have this filter INSIDE the Aqua-Hot case, in the back (very hard to reach).

Hi dave,
Just as something else to do.  Lay on your back in front of your left headlights, suck in your belt buckle, and slide under the coach, and then look up.  That is where mine is on my '01.  Even Roger couldn't find it.
  Just a remote chance.

Good luck,

Roger,

I want to replace my filter next month.  Do I have to fill the bowl below the filter with diesel fuel before re-assembling?  And at what interval do you recommend?

Thank you.

Aqua-Hot says annual service.  I say monitor the exhaust.  When it gets stinky or smoky, then it is time for service.

You do not need to fill the fuel filter.  After you change it, turn the diesel on, wait 5 seconds and turn switch off.  This sends the Aqua-Hot into the cool down or purge cycle.  You will hear the motor speed up when it runs out of fuel, then load when the fuel fills the filter and the lines.  It may take 2 cycles for the filter / lines to fill because the fuel filter is a long way from the Aqua-Hot in our coaches.  You can then start up the Aqua-Hot.  It should start up as normal.  You can pre-fill the filter if you like, however it is much easier to just cycle the unit until it fills.

Tim

We are not going to be at the Tampa Supershow.  We are going to be in Quartzsite, AZ from January 15th through February 6th 2011.  Most of the time at the Lemon Gathering.

I can suggest at least one person, who I think will be there.
