Automatic Line Generator Switch Model ATS100

Yesterday I checked the area under the bed for the coach electrical items.  I found an Automatic Line Generator Switch Model ATSW100.  A heavy cable routes from the driver side of the coach to this switch, another heavy cable routes between this switch and the circuit breaker panel and another heavy cable routes from the circuit breaker panel back to the driver side of the coach. 

I presume this Automatic Line Generator Switch Model ATS100 is the transfer switches.  If I purchase the Progressive Industries EMS-HW50C, how would I determine which cable to cut to install it to protect the coach electrical system from shore power problems and genset power problems?

Yes that is a transfer switch.

Yes that is a transfer switch.

There are two large cables going into the main circuit breaker panel. One comes from the driver side of the coach and the other one goes between the breaker panel and the  Automatic Line Generator Switch Model ATS100. Is the correct cable to cut for installation of the EMS the cable that runs between the Automatic Line Generator Switch Model ATS100 and the circuit breaker panel?  Does this provide the protection for both the shore power and genset power?

It will protect both Shore Power And Gen if you cut where it shows in the diagram below.
I could not tell from your description which of the 2 transfer switches you were describing.

It will protect both Shore Power And Gen if you cut where it shows in the diagram below.

When I am back at the coach, I will check further.  I had to hold the bed up and hold a flashlight while trying to check out what electrical components were there.  I hope my wife can go next time so we will be able to get much better information.

Morris, That bed is heavy and the gas shocks usually don't hold it up.
I use a painters pole that is adjustable in length, I place it in the void at the end of the bed and then at a secure spot under the platform.  I store it alongside the bed when not in use.

Morris, And others you really don't want to know how I discovered how heavy that bed is.  The DW was not happy with the loud noises I was making as I struggled to get out from under that D... thing when it fell.  I am fortunate to have a thick skull so no damage was done that won't heal.  ( Except the ego for being stupid ).

Thank you very much Gary....Yes, it is very heavy..and I think ours is a true queen size bed that may be larger than some of the others..so I feared the gas shocks were just worn out.  I was thinking about some way to prop it up.  I will definitely look at options as you suggest.  Thanks a lot for the suggestion.

We have a PVC pipe with PVC TEEs at each end to give the pipe a flat end surface.
Pipe is kept under bed in electric space and fits on top of our transfer switch and under end of bed.
We never go under without it in place.
 
We always use four hands to lift and lower bed.

As heavy as our bed is, I am surprised PVC is strong enough to hold it.  What size PVC pipe do you use?
