Upholstery tear

One of the seams on the driver's seat has pulled apart (see photo).  I think this part of the seat is not leather, but vinyl or some other similar synthetic material.  Has anyone attempted a repair of something like this?  If so I'd like to hear about what you tried and the success of the repair.  At the very least I'd like to stabilize the seam until we can get Dave at FOT to effect a permanent repair.

George:  I had this same problem.  Appears to be caused by pulling on the seats as you go by. I had mine repaired by "Rodney Shephard" in Longview, Texas phone nr is 903-235-8267.
He does travel and make the repairs so he will come to you if you are in Nacogdoches. He can repair the dash, trim on front door, booths and chairs.
He did a great job for us.  tks Dan Stansel 02 U295 40 with a 36 U270 99 for sale.

If Longview is reasonably close to Nac, then I think Rodney is the guy who sub-contracted a couple of leather repairs for us when we were at MOT. He did a really nice job and made a cut disappear.
