Bill, great question. I have tried everything I can think of to get the rpms up with the CC.

I changed the 93, U225 to an Iota 90 amp smart converter. Very simple change and it worked very well. The 93, U300 has a Xantrex 3000 Inverter/Charger but it was installed when I got it. It also works very well. My batteries are 7 years old and still working well.

On our 1997 U295 with King cruise control and "smart wheel," I press the "On" button for the CC, the press "Accel" to bring up the engine speed. We often bring the C8.3 up to about 1000 rpm after it is idling smoothly and the oil pressure is up where it should be. That brings the air pressure up much more quickly than does low idle speed. We can release the CC by activating the service brake or pressing "Off" button on the smart wheel.

Bill I installed a 80 amp about a month ago a easy change out, love the charger and it is quieter. On mine to increase the idle speed i turn the cruise on and wait for the pressure to build up to about 50 psi. then hit the resume switch on the cc, seems like it woks better when i get the rpms up with the foot pedal then hit the resume switch.
