Pressure Pro

Pressure Pro said there is no change to wheel sensors.  No O-ring being added.  No new seal. 

The current seal (black) has been in use for several years.

Of course. In the eyes of PP there is not a problem.  It is just the customers inability to install the product correctly. 

I am no longer endorsing this product to those people who ask me what we have on our valve stems.  Do I own and use Pressure Pro? Yes

Will I replace them with Pressure Pro replacements when they wear out?  No.

I'm still waiting for my Hopkins sensors, but I have no hopes of them being better than the PP sensors, just cheaper. I will let you know if they are different.

By the way, the PP's worked great on this last trip. Amazing what warmer temperatures will do.

Well, let me relate my recent (i.e., today) experience with Pressure Pro.  We are staying in one place for awhile, so I sent all my sensors to them for testing.  They tested all and found them in good working order and at my request, replaced all the seals at no cost other than return postage.  We had some leakage problems with two of the sensors.  Doug, the technical guy at PP, called me twice to discuss the sensors and seemed to be very responsive to my concerns about the leaks.  I have had the PP system for about 5 years and they have always been first class in their customer service.  I would not hesitate to recommend their products.

I guess I'll have to chime in, too.

I've had PP's on 3 different motor homes now. Never had a leak problem.

I have had the problem of a sensor going stupid occasionally. And later work normally.

I have no idea why we've never had a leak problem.

Use PP for about 10,000 miles on two coaches.  The HHR tow has them, but I remove when I am home and put them back on when we tow.  Had not had a leak yet.  Ck tire pressure twice a day.

Always amazing how words can be used conviently, Foretravel had a lot of flat tires overnight when they started installing the PP units. The PP fix appeared to be addition of an O ring lookng something.  Weather it was an added O ring or a newer Black insert is unknown to me at this time.  It does appear PP did something to help Foretravel when they installed the PP units.  Foretravel is now installing them on all new units I am told.  Maybe they held school on the FT guys on how to install them. However the word is O ring lookng insert.
Wording is everything, like being a muchroom.
Maybe one day it will be solved one way or other, just maybe.

I am on my second set (first set lasted 5 1/2 years) of PP, 60,000 miles on the coach and Accord (toad) sensors. The only leak I had was in the first couple weeks, before I started using Teflon tape around the valve stems. I bought a repeater a few years ago to elimiinate the occasional blank (---) reading. Since then, no issues and great service.

I'll add we have had 8 PP sensors on two coaches over 6+ years. No leaks "ever". Just added two sensors, as we parked our motorcycle trailer and are towing a pickup. Expect the same results from the two "new" PP sensors.

We have had some problems with our sensors reporting in from our toad.  They would come and go on the monitor so to speak.  We bought a repeater, but that did not seem to help.  I had all the sensors checked.  No problem there.  Today I decided to move the repeater to the back of the coach.  We had used it in the galley area.  When I went to install it above the bed, I pulled out the antennas and one came out in my hand!  The end of the antenna was tapped, so I screwed it back it.  The other antenna was also unscrewed.  When both were screwed back in, the repeater seems to work as it should.  Even with the back wheels of the "toad" about 20 feet from the back of the coach, the monitor on the dash quickly receives the signal.  With the repeater off, only 3 of the 4 come in.  So if you have a problem with your repeater, check the antennas!  They should be about 3.5" long fully extended.

I am disappointed with the accuracy of the PP system.  Today I checked my pressures, both with the PP monitor, and digital and mechanical pressure gauges.  An example was the rr inside tire.  PP showed it to be low (78#) so I filled to 85# as measured on the digital tire gauge. checked it with the mechanical gauge and got 84#.  acceptable--,  went inside and the PP showed 81#.  Also I have checked a tire on the PP, gone outside and checked with digital, replaced the sending unit, and gained two pounds simply by removing and replacing the unit.  This doesn't seem very accurate to me.  Norm

I have had similar experiences.  I could never get the same reading between three gauges -- so now I just accept the reading on the PP monitor.  The person who sold me the system said the monitor is very accurate.

Pressure Pro will let you know when your tire has a low pressure problem when driving down the road, something a mechanical or digital gauge can't do. Use your gauge for exact PSI and use your Pressure Pro to save your car and tire from self destrucing.

I never looked at it that way, but I will do that going forward. I like my tire gauge. It is made in America, it is digital and seems to be a quality piece of equipment.

I'm more concerned with adequacy than accuracy. First of all I'm not sure you really know what the correct pressure is.

Second, I really only want PP to tell me when the pressure drops and indicates a safety issue.
