Door seal replacement, '98 U295

I just finished replacing the seal around the entrance door.  For anyone who is planning to do this in the future, be aware, you will need help.  In order to get the seal in the track with the black rubber "chinking" on the hinge side, the door will need to be removed.  The door is heavy and hard to re-align with the screw holes.

I have investigated and tried all the cleaning ideas I could find to remove the black mold spots and have been unsuccessful.  When I bought the coach there was a box of spare parts to include the new seal.  I finally gave in and chose not to "save" it any longer.

Fred I too, am fixing to go down the same road (white gasket is nasty), anything special I need to know?

It would help to have one of the tools to reinstall the black rubber "tubing/chinking".  I used a tool normally used to install the rubber material around window screening.  I found my new seal was slightly larger than the old one and it made it a little more difficult to install.  It would actually have been better to be a little on the small side and needing to be stretched into place.

Time and the help of a couple fairly strong friends for the door removal and reinstall.

Looks so much better when it is done.

If the right material is a problem getting it, When Xtreme did my paint job, all windows and the door came off, when reinstalled the door, they had a new black rubber flap/seal/what ever you call it, installed, sure got rid of the road noise that was coming from the door. Have no idea of the work involved in the installation.  But if acquiring the right material is difficult, check with FOT and or Xtreme.
