No more leak


 A while ago I investigated the leak from the commode. It was the Watts water regulator under the floor of the raised portion supporting the Microphor. The adjustment plug was weeping.

 I replaced the regulator with a common one that ranged from 40 to 50 psi.

 That did not work. The water pressure was too high and interfered with the air regulation.

 The manual called for 60 - 65 psi for air and something over 40 psi for water. The air gauge to the Microphor reads 42-44 psi. (don't know why, the aux pump cuts out at 50 psi)

 I assumed the water pressure should then be lower than 40 psi in order that the air valves work in time.

 Today after some thought, I installed a new Watts regulator with a pressure gauge right off the water manifold. This will allow me to adjust the water pressure as required without taking the WC apart. It will also remove what seems to be the weakest link in the water pressure chain to a better place for a drip and or service.

 With any luck the shark bite fittings will hold for a very long time as there are no leaks.    Tom

Expensive parts. Prone to breakdowns. Pita for me, glad it's gone. 3 repairs in 18 months, average 400 dollars each (no problems before that). Didn't fix #3, replaced with $800 toilet

Yes replaced the plastic wheel.  They break from over tightening also.
