Noisy heater outside

My unit heater fan is quite noisy outside, somewhere between a shriek and a whine.  I hate to think I'm disturbing other's wa in the campground, anyone have any idea what would cause this?  Fan rotates fine, no binding, no visible contamination on blades.

Chuck,

Two choices to quiet a noisy fan in a propane furnace-- lube the fan motor or replace it.

These are BUSHED, not bearinged motors.  It is hard to access the fan motor, but once you are there, a couple of drops of sewing machine or other light, non-detergent oil will keep them quiet for years.  If the bushings are too badly worn, replace the fan motor.

Brett:  I assume the motor must be removed and the oil run down the shaft.  I replaced the rear motor last year and I remember the motor as being a sealed unit.  Norm

Yes, normal to remove motor and allow a little oil to run into the bushings at each end of the motor. 

You may be able to get away with putting a little on the shaft and have it wick into the bushing-- have not tried that.
