Reoccurring fresh water problem (1994 U225)

Had this problem last winter at Savannah Ga, and thought I cured it.  The fresh water system got plugged up, both calcium and sand.  I flushed it and cleaned all the faucet screens and the toilet valve.  Started using a sediment filter.  Went on a couple trips last summer and had no problem.  Winterized it for the winter (blew it out really good).  Just arrived in Florence, SC and every  thing is plugged up again.  The only faucet I can get to run is the kitchen on spray.  Will not work on stream.  The shower got some brown gunk out  of it and the toilet is trying to run, but very slow.  Replaced the pressure regulator last winter also.  That apparently acts as the anti-back flow valve also, as that was all I could find when I replaced it last winter.

Any ideas?  It will fill the tank, but nothing into house (like all the faucets and toilet valve plugged again).

Start by removing all the defuses from the faucets and checking the screens.

Are water/winterizing valves properly set?

What happens on on-board water/water pump?

Yes, only the two drains (hot water drain and cold water drain) under J-knife sofa and the one for draining and filling tank at the tank between seats.

the weird thing is - why do I have water at the kitchen faucet on the spray side of faucet, but not on the normal stream side of the very same faucet?  Thinking that they are all plugged up again, but I did not hardly run any fresh water into the system. Almost like a vapor lock.  Will check the screens when we stop tomorrow afternoon.

If the problem seems to be occurring on both hot & cold it is likely the aerators because the heater tank will allow the sand or sediments to fall to the bottom and act as a separator. if it happens when the aerators are removed then the problem is where the water inlet or before the pipes manifold. You should be able to narrow it down by trying removing the aerators and go from hot to cold & try the house pump and switch to the shore water and see what you get.  Makes me wonder what is causing it reoccur are you adding anti freeze? Could there be residual sand or sediments in the tank? Is your water fill source reliable? Do you empty your tank and if so are you doing it by running the pump or draining it. If you are running the pump to empty the tank you may be picking up sediments from the bottom of the tank when you run the tank out.

Tomorrow should be at Blue Springs State Park, Orange City, Fl for 9 days, and then another week at St Augustine.  Did not get anything done to day.  A new sediment filter.  Planning on flushing everything when we get to Blue Springs.

Side note - My cruise control did not disengage when I got off one of the exits in SC on I95.  Had to kill the engine and get off to the side real quick.  Thought it was the throttle spring, but it was the activator cable hung up or something.  I got it back to idle and have not used it since.    Rather be closer to home to mess with it.

Phil,
I just blow it out to winterize it.  No anti-freeze.  Going to try to flush it good enough to get me home, and then pull that bladder tank off and replace it.  I can flush the water heater.  The biggest pain is the toilet valve.

Funniest part is that I went through this last March here at Savannah and flushed everything.  Couple trips during the summer with no problems.  Then blow everything out for the winter.  Then the first place I try to get water through the system -  nothing except the spray function on the kitchen faucet.

Do you still have the Bendix cruise control.  If so, remove the exit port filter and make sure it is not blocked.  It allows the cruise to release pressure/return throttle to idle.  If clogged, it can trap air and cause throttle to stay open even when the cruise signals "close throttle".

This is the new, just recently installed Cruise King Cruise Control.

Never had that happen in 70,000 plus miles on the King Cruise.

Have talked to Steve.  He did extend my warranty.  This unit had a bad control board which had to be replaced, after a lot of expensive troubleshooting.  I've already got way to much labor into it.  May take some pics and e-mail them to him to see what he thinks of the installation.

Turned out to be minerals from hard water.  Screen was in place, and the minerals were in the pressure regulator beyond the water hookup.  Guess I'm going to have to check out one of those rv water softeners.

That's what I did after having to clean my water system with vinegar annually.
