Recommendation to Fix My Generator: Denver to Minneapolis

My generator runs fine but still does deliver the correct voltage, for example, Link 2000 shows 90v one leg, 100v the other leg.

Could be voltage regulator, toasted resister, etc.

Recommendations welcomed.

Looks like a possibility would be to call Power Tech in FL for info on a shop in the area you are in or headed for.  This is not a problem for anyone who knows generators.  However as in any trade, there is a percentage that are clueless, why I suggest contacting Power Tech.
I just googled generator repair in Denver, there are a few shops there.
Good Luck.

Paul,
I have used EC Power Systems of Colorado, 3233 Oakland St, Aurora, CO  to troubleshoot my Power Tech generator.  They are a dealer for Power Tech, know what they are doing and have a shop big enough to pull a 40' coach into.

The Power Tech website has a dealer list.  I was very happy with the dealer I picked off the list with no references.

I did use EC Power Systems of Colorado, 3233 Oakland St, Aurora, CO and they did a bang up job. Problem was a broken wire behind main box.  In at 8am out by 10am.  Only $65.  I could not have been happier.

Generator ran fine in the shop. On two separate occasions driving both AC's, etc.

Generator ran fine last night, and this morning.  Then later (I'm boondocking) the sound the generator made changed. I checked the output and saw 100v not the previous 120.  On subsequent tests I found it took about 5 minutes for the voltage to drop from 120 to 100.  Still charging at 100v, tho.  (Not sure if this is harmful.)

Then the voltage dropped even further (to zero) and now the ATS fails to lock.

Any ideas?

I think you're back to looking at the voltage regulator.

Call Power Tech at 352-365-2777 or 800-760-0027.  They will not only have the part number but are probably your best source for parts and troubleshooting to confirm what you need.

It's held on with two screws from the curb side, then pull connectors.  Handle connectors carefully.  Take a photo first to make sure you don't mix up the wires.
