Completed Classic Coach Mods

New Desk, TV in basement and new storage cabinet under existing cabinet.  The storage cabinet was supposed to have a roll up door like a kitchen appliance garage, but they couldn't get one to work and of course that's the only thing my DW wanted.  Sigh.
See level installed too.

Completed wet bay mod pics maybe next week :dance:

At least I have the owner of CCW calling me directly now. Squeaky wheel gets the grease right?  HA!  It's been there since 1-28.

  Thanks.  The DW is mad as all get out though.  In the pics it looks like they didn't match the stain exactly.  I tried to explain to her that it's kind of hard to match a stain that's 12 years old - or it could just be the pictures.  The little storage cabinet was supposed to have a roll-up door ( like an appliance garage in a kitchen) instead of the two doors that you see (waited for 2 extra weeks to get THAT made) so we could open it up when the slide was in.  They couldn't get one to work so they just made it the way it looks without calling me to tell me.  That was the ONLY thing Kathy wanted too.  :help:

We were going to go to the rally in FL this week, but the coach is still in the shop. Sigh.  I just want my coach back now...

  I did.  Whatever they used turned out to be too large according to them... e.g. the inside space is so small that once the door was rolled up, there was no room to store much inside the cabinet.  Lame excuse IMO, but the jobs done - without them saying a word to me about it.  Once I get Moose back I'll have more to say about this place... to everyone everywhere and I don't believe it's going to be good.  There was only one review ( a bad one) about them and it was answered ( had a logical response) by CCW so I took a chance.  >:D  MY review will be everywhere when I get done. :o  I think the quality of the work is OK ( from what I could see in the pics), but the customer service is non-existant IMO.  My "sales rep" was the owners son and he's an idiot.

Finally got the wet bay mods done.  The bay still needs to be cleaned up, labeled and fine tuned a little.  My dump valves are now accessible directly.  No more worries about the cables breaking and no more need for a 3rd valve.  The handle is for my black tank flush.  She's almost ready to come home :)

Now Moose goes to a shop where they will try and find out why my brake gauges were fluctuating between 80psi and 110psi while going down the road at 60mph.  Sigh.  Hopefully an easy problem to solve. I AM open to suggestions.

Nice changes.  See that the cabinet is not very tall, and see that the tambour door system might not have left much height.  Think I would have thought they might have called with the clear space, and let you measure your stuff and then decide, or rearrange your things to fit.

As to you air pressure, one new thread yesterday by Dan Spoor, not sure you have the same "blue box", but this might help.  "Blue Module" Failure

I had run away high pressure, over 125, and changed the D2 govenor, $25.  Hopefully our board members can help more.

That's my thought as well.  When I go to pick Moose up, the boss and I are going to have a little conversation about them making design changes/decisions for me.  The whole thing about the tambour door was so we could open it when the slide was closed.  Now we won't be able to open it at all until the slide is open.  I would have cancelled the cabinet completely if they had called me to let me know what the problem was.  That cabinet cost me $500 to make. :o

The tambour doors that are in the older Foretravel models open from side to side, not up and down.  The storage space for the roller part takes up some room, but not headspace.  My daughter has a "garage" in her kitchen that rolls up and down ... wonder what their problem was ?  I would certainly take issue with that design change, and refuse to accept their lack of communication.  On another note entirely, my thoughts for that cabinet area are to use that upper cabinet space as a perfect place to mount a TV, stereo, all the gizmos, etc.  No issue when the slide is closed, and a great area for viewing from the living room when you are parked.  PLUS ... we came across an accident involving a Foretravel on I-40 last week (front tire blowout) that involved leaving the road and launching across a 4 ft rain ditch onto the grassy shoulder.  All the TV paraphernalia that is located above the driver's head in the upper cabinets was left dangling by the wiring.  I envision a nasty blow to the driver's head if that stuff comes flying out and starts flapping around.  If you are already fighting a blowout, you don't need to be dodging that stuff, as well!

If they had considered it like a roll top desk - where the tambor door goes up, over and down the back I think it would have been what you wanted. That takes a lot more work and thought. They could have also done left-right tambors but that would have been more difficult to make it look good.

The older foretravels I sold had tambour doors that slide towards the front so the doors closed under braking.....
