Cummins Power Club Dealer in Scarborough Maine

Our 1993 U280 is currently undergoing engine repair work at a Cummins Power Club dealer in Scarborough Maine. As I previously stated the folks that messed with this engine should be castrated and have their hands cut off at the wrists to prevent any further blasphemy. My search for an unaffiliated Cummins mechanic did not pan out. I was a bit concerned when I received the estimate for the work that needed to be done as I know a Cummins dealer is more apt to replace with a new part rather than repair what can be "mended". My biggest concern was the cylinder head, as I was initially told that it would probably need to be replaced. Although we are not yet out of the woods the head was sent to a machine shop for "evaluation" and repair if possible. Although the coach is still in the shop I am so far quite satisfied with the personnel there. They have kept me informed, as I cannot stay with the coach, and have physically shown me the parts that need replacing as well the progress they are making on the engine. The jury isn't out yet as to my recommendation for this shop but so far I am pleased with the progress. Will keep you informed as to the outcome of this continuing saga.

Good to know your happy with thir work so far. I was in portland yesterday and noticed there was a Cummins shop on Warren Ave. which is just around the corner from Turnpike exit 48. I spoke with an excavating contractor that I know and he said he sends all his stuff there.

Just another option in case you need it. Good luck with the repairs, (and subsequent bill).

The reason I went to the Scarborough Cummins dealer is they are a participating with the Cummins Power Club member. Membership in the club is $5 per year and you get a 10% discount on parts and labor form a participating dealer. As the bill is going to be in the area of $5000 it is not a bad return on investment.

Ahhh, that makes good sense. I wasn't aware of that program. May have to look into it.
