(Note - discusses a scam) 2000 40' U295? w/full body paint for $45K

No interest in in this but thought it sounded like a possible good deal for someone. Not sure that it is a 295, may be a 270 but definetly not a 320 because it as a 350hp Cummins. Here is the link 2000 Foretravel M40, Class A - Gas RV For Sale in , Texas | TraderNet | RVT.com

Scam? Description is vague and confused. Price is too low. Bunk over cab? Power windows? Driver and passenger front and side air bags? I continue to learn about new features! ::)

Also it is dual fuel - both gas and diesel.

Yup - Googled the phone number in the ad.  Definite scammer and many others prior, not just RVs.

Oops! I didn't read the ad carefully, obviously! Shame on me :-[  Just saw it in my email and got excited thinking someone here might benefit. I did notice that it said gas in the header and diesel in the description, but I have seen that with a lot of adds and figured it is just someone not paying attention.... not realizing that I was the one not paying attention! Power windows??? ::) mea culpa! In a way I am glad that a full body paint one year newer coach with less miles wasn't listed for less than our 99' U270 with faded decals and half again more miles, isn't for real! I guess I find it hard to comprehend that people would actually perpatrate such scams...

No problemo, Don.  That sort of thing is one reason I have occasionally considered asking folks not to post links to classifieds on sites like Craigslist, eBay, RVTrader, Oodle, etc.  Another reason is that most folks looking are already subscribing to those feeds, anyway, and I'm not entirely thrilled with Foreforums providing free advertising repeater services for those sites...

OTOH, we are still pleased with the coach we bought off Craigslist after Bill Jackson posted the link here. I was not searching Craigslist at the time. Fortunately, we tend to look out for each other here. Exposing some of the scams that include the FT brand may be a service we provide via the community.

We bought our U225 off craigslist and looked at a few others; all on the up-n-up. I mentioned an eBay deal for a U280 that someone here snatched up. And then there was the U280 for only $5,000 for sale by a service person on duty outside the USA. She would happily mail the keys to anyone that sent her the bucks.

Just pays to keep your wits about you. :)

Thanks again Craig, for the lead on our U280. It's a great coach in great shape.

You're very welcome, John. But I have to tell you that, had we not just bought our coach, I would have been all over that U280! What a smoking hot deal that was!!! Glad someone here on the forum got it. :)

Re- this ad. I e-mailed RV website and just got this reply
Hello John,

The ad# you have provided is from a legit company called TraderNet.  They advertise up to approx. 2000 Listings with us most of there RV's are from private sellers
and since there on a feed, sometimes there information on there ads don't always come off correctly and we are not able to remove there ads since it will derive from
there feed/there website and back to ours.

So maybe they are real ads (or the RVT people cannot detect them properly??)

I have locked this topic.

The seller associated with the phone number in the original ad, TraderNet = AutomotiveUSA = a number of other aliases for a media advertising company with many consumer complaints registered against them.
