John, I bought some on eBay once and that was a waste of money as you must ensure the gas charge is correct for the application you are using the strut for.  I have since always called the factory and told them what I needed and got the correct size and gas charge needed.  The had the inside cabinet ones on sale last year and those were all replace and work like new again.  Just my two cents.  David

Brett, the bed ones on here now are SL25-30    that is a massive difference in pressure.
With the matterass off they hold up the ply cover really well but with it on it closes, only problem is to go from 30 to 170lbs/sq in I feel would keep it up in air even with the 2 of us on it?? :P :P
My question was more for finding a supplier as I tried ebay and amazon and they do not have the right sizes listed.
Thanks

John, I found that the numbers are not always indicative of the pressure. I bought several bargain sets about five years ago with the same numbers we had on our originals but they were much weaker than the originals. I finally found a web site that stated the pressure on each strut. They were more expensive but they worked great.

This was on my U225 so I no longer have the receipts to tell you where we bought them.

Correct, if they need a higher pressure one and don't have any made up, it is quite common to take the correct length and boost it up.  They then put on a paper label indicating the new pressure.

I can assure you that two 30 pound struts will NOT hold up the bed and mattress!  They would be stressed to hold up the basement doors.

But, you can call Foretravel to verify.

John,

If you have a gas spring of the proper strength, it is easy to verify pressure.

Remove it.  Put a piece of wood on a regular bathroom scale.  Wrap top of spring in towel so it won't hurt your hand when you push down. Push down until it compresses.  Read scale.

Have cold beverage and message hand and order two of same.

Looks like the same length I need and I guess that is the pressure like Brett was saying-almost.
I am going to take the ply bed base off in the morning and redo the insulation as it is falling off and I had to put more screws in it to hold up. It is rotted out now.
Allways something to do.
