Porch Light

OK, Before I go out and buy some dynamite and blow the porch lite all to hell someone tell me how I can defeat the touch on feature and use just the on off switch inside the door ?
I am going nuts fiddling with this thing.  After getting coach washed in CA Porch lite stays on and have removed fuse to turn off.  I have removed lower bracket and find no water to act as ground.

Been there, done that! Gary, the lower metal bracket has the ground wire attached, somewhere so that when you touch it with  your feet on the ground you complete the circuit. Disconnect and/or remove this wire and your touch-on feature will be disabled.
No RV! Have hung up the keys.

AHA! That seems to explain why my porch light has a mind of it's own that I cannot for the life of me control! You are not the only one going nuts with this

Gary, open the small compartment door right behind the entry door. On the ceiling just inside will be the control box which says on it........ready?....."touch lite". I know, go figger.

We need to switch coach parts. My touch feature has never worked. I turn the switch on and the porch light and handle light up. Period.

When we bought our U295, the porch light did not work at all.

Replaced bulbs
Applied WD-40 to switch in fixture + exercised the switch
Disassembled acrylic grab handle and lower bracket, cleaned, added new bulb
Reassembled grab handle using dielectric grease on the electric components and silicone caulk to seal the fittings and gaskets

Porch light worked, but would sometimes come on briefly for no apparent reason. I asked on the forum, "Is this a feature or bug?" I found it was a feature. It works well on our coach. Touch the lower metal fitting and the light comes on for about a minute. Use the switch near the entry steps to leave the light on. I like it.

The porch light sometimes lights briefly when the handle is sprayed with water, but goes out soon.

Horace,  The ground wire has ring connector on it that the upper left screw goes thru, I have cleaned this off as well as cleaning off the excess sealer and dirt I then resealed around the lower bracket and still light will not go out.
Can I simply cut off this wire ?
Or, Can I cut the wires at the little module in the bay and still use switch inside door ?
The wiring diagram is not real clear on how this thing works.

I got tired of screwing around with my touch sensor. I yanked it out and installed a "Night Watchman" photoswitch. Wish I had done it several years ago.

Gary....in the middle of the controller is 1 wire going through a hole and is a push on connector. Pull that off the connector and your problem is solved.
