Converter installation question

Hi,

Installing a new PD9280 converter.  My old converter had a red cable (in the picture) and a white cable.  Am I safe to assume the red cable is for the positive and the white goes to the negative connection?  The old converter had no markings. 

Red cable goes to the side and attaches with the other red's in the picture.  White goes a plastic covered white cable and disappears back to the bottom of the coach behind the batteries.

you can see the white cable in the picture along the bottom of the board going back into the coach.

I assume that the red/white you're referring to is from the battery bank. The way I'd do it is to re-connect the battery bank and put a voltmeter on the red/white pair. That should tell you quickly enough. It seems likely that the red wire will be positive and that someone just grabbed a white wire. But it's best to be sure.

It's almost certain that the red wire is positive but never assume something.  As Craig suggests check it first.  You never know what a previous owner did.

The brand of your old converter did have the red as positive and the white as ground
