refrig replacement

A neighbor is looking into replacing his refrig with a residential model. I told him the names of the models on the forum( whirlpool, magic chef, frigidare, etc.) after his research he determined that each one indicated that they were not to be used in an RV and an inverter could not be used in the power stream. My question is, what would be the reason(s) that this is included in the manufactures literature? jc

Not that I want to stick my neck out but generally, the manufacturers want to cover their rears from the liability standpoint in case something goes wrong. I would PM the members who have installed the residential units and ask how the conversion has gone.

Agree, a C-Y-A or lawyer talk, as all inverters are not created equal, some do just fine some are jure junk.
