Cracked Windshield.

While cleaning the windshield today I discovered about a 12" crack in the upper, not normally seen, area.  It appeares to be only in the outer ply.  I think this windshield has three.  I have done some research and found a reference to a new technology that can repair such a crack.  However, it didn't say where this technologh can be located.
Any information, ideas, thoughts, and experiences, will be appreciated.

I have had good results in windshield repair on our U295 from a guy who works out of a van in front of the Family Dollar store in our home town. He has repaired a couple of dings in the windshield of the coach as well as a couple of our cars. He has been showing up regularly at a few specific locations for several years. It is his primary job rather than a sideline.

He dresses the cracks or dings with a diamond drill and injects a liquid into the flaw. He cures the material with UV light from an electric light and from the sun.

There are lots of people who do the repair work. I expect expertise and results with vary.

12" is beyond the capability of repair techniques.  If it begins and ends along a window edge, you can just live with it.  If it is heading away from an edge, you are doomed to replace it unless it curves.

          I wonder if your stuck slide with the resulting "big bang" could have twisted the coach enough to crack the windshield. Does the timeline fit?
