Installing satellite receiver for bedroom tv

Is it possible to place the receiver between the coax cable going to the rear tv and the rear tv? Then can one operate the receiver as you do the front receiver. Now both tvs must watch the same satellite channel. I would like to be able to watch different satellite channels. Thanks

If you have Dish you can get a receiver that will allow you to use the one receiver and operate 2 different TV's on 2 different channels.  Thats what I have been using for several years.  You can also record from both tvs.

Need to know which dish (make and model; need dual or better LNB), which receiver (make and model, need dual or better tuner).

As John S. mentioned, with DirecTV you can get additional receivers for $6.00 per month. Each receiver allows a different channel if desired. We have a DVR receiver in the front and a regular receiver in the bedroom. DW gets the big TV, I get the bedroom TV, of course. :)

I have a DISH receiver with a TRAC STAR in-motion set up. I only have one receiver that operates the same channel on both TV's. You can get a dual receiver from DISH which gives you the benefit of watching different channels on different TV's using....you do not need 2 different single receivers....you only need one dual receiver, make sense? The additional receiver only costs $6/month.....what a deal!

95% of the channels I watch are on satellite 119 on DISH. If I want to watch a channel that is on satellite 110 DISH, I have to manually switch the satellite...not big issue just something else to do. One issue....as far as I know you cannot get an in motion HD system.....so I do not have HD satellite, but I am currently researching this issue to see if the technology is now available, I hope it is!

As a new kid on the block, I have a couple of questions concerning my Trac Vision.

When the MOHO is parked with the sat system operating, I find the Trac Vision (with DTV) tends to lose signal and and re-lock on (in good weather with a clear sat line of view). Then it will/may lose the signal again and then lock on again. Should it not lock on and stay locked on until shut down?

My system (in motion 360) has a relay somewhere that disconnects the power to the TV when the ignition key is on. I assume this keeps you from driving and watching TV at the same time. Are other FT's configured this way?

Thanks,

All Foretravels are configured this way from the factory. You can disable this feature by going to your electrical drawings and finding the circuit breaker number for this circuit in the front passenger circuit breaker panel and disconnect it.

On my 93 and 95 there was a relay controlled plug adapter at the outlet behind the TV. Removed the adapter and plugged the cord directly into the outlet.

The Dish I am using is the Winegard Trav'ler SK1000 it is for the Dish Network. It is
HD not in motion and the Dish receiver is a VIP 722 HD Duo DVR.  Hope this helps

I have a Trac Star in motion satellite system. I have had problems with it but Trac Star rebuilt it and works great now. I have a DISH receiver. When parked mine now stays locked on the satellite...no issues. When you are parked you can put it in Idle/Hold status and the LNB will not continue to move back and forth making that annoying noise. If you have any questions concerning the Trac Star you can call them at 407-650-9054, ask for Jim or Al in Tech support, they have been extremely helpful to me EVERY time I call them, they know me by now!

Agree with Steve - my Trak Star/Dish stays locked on when placed on idle/hold - no problems and the support folks are very helpful.  I used them once when I first reprogrammed the Trak Star from DirectTV to Dish.

For any HDTV, unless you can stream HD wireless, you have to use a HDMI cable from the sat receiver or blu-ray player to the TV. Any other cable will only see 480I max. Probably not a big deal with a 20" bedroom TV but a quite visible difference with a larger screen. In other words, coax or composite out won't do it.

Google knows ;)

I searched for in-motion dish hd and got a hit on the Winegard page
