A/C filters

The filters on our Penguin rooftop a/c units are pretty bad. I looked at PPL and Tweety's, but neither one has them listed. Any suggestions for a source for these, or are we going to have to make our own?

David,
Are you talking about the filter inserts in the snap out grills?
I don't buy much from Camping World, but I have used both of these.

Thanks, Neal. We don't buy much from them, either, and frankly hadn't even thought of them. The second link is exactly what we need, so we'll order them.

Dave, Unless those filters are just falling apart simply wash them gently in soap and water, rinse and let dry.  Mine are 18 years old and still in good condition.

On Edit... My AC filters are a metal mesh with what appears to be a fibreglass type material captured in them.  I assumed that these were OEM but maybe they were add ons by the previous owner.

As Gary said just wash them.  If too far gone foam filter material is available at the big box hardware stores.  Just put in onto the old frame.

The foam just disintegrates when you touch it, so that's why we're going to replace them. They aren't very expensive at CW, and we need to go down to Sam's anyway, so we'll just pick up four of them the next time we're that way.

Gary, I like the idea of the mesh ones. Maybe someone knows where they came from.
