Entry Step

Any one know where a person may find a new fold down entry step, or one in good condition (the steel part). One can certainly fabricate one but it would be time consuming. About a year ago I sand blasted, treated and painted the old one, next trip will be powder coating, if I can find a new one.

Unless the step is a custom model, specifically designed for a 1999 Foretravel, you might check the camping supply catalog at a RV dealer. I know the catalogs I have show several different styles and the prices are quite reasonable.

I bought mine from the factory, then powder coated locally. jc

Check with Xtreme Graphics in Nac. They might have something left over from a step conversion. Don't know what kind of shape it would be in though.

We ha a step conversion done at Xtreme, and they removed the whole box that has the air cylinders and flip-out step, so I'm guessing that they have some left over.  Depending on how Rance was doing the upgrade, he may re-use some of the fiberglass cover from the step, but I saw at least one that he didn't re-use.

Thanks All for the responces, I called Xtream about a year ago and at the time the did not have any, I will give them a call today. I thought about a conversion, but I like the old single fold out .

Can't stand it any longer. What is the step conversion? Somehow I've managed to miss what that entails.

Thanks for all the repiles. For anyone intrested Foretravel had the new steel plate portion of the step for $90.00 + Freight. I did find a used one at Xtream but they wanted about twice that for it.

That Extreme step looks quite nice.  Is this something they fabricate?

Chuck, they buy the "guts" then install. We had them do our coach-just didn't trust ourselves with that small floppy step. Great improvement. Steve and Michelle also had it done, along with many others...

I hear ya.  Missing that small step one time could be a game changer.  Is reliability comparable?

We've had no issues in three years.  Too soon to tell I guess.
