Our Search for Mr. Wonderful is Over!

We're happy to announce that we finally did it!  In 18 days we pick up our new-to-us 1997 36' u320.  Her current name is "Baby" and "babied" she has been.  She has been loved and pampered by her wonderful owners for the past 7 years.  We couldn't be happier!  ;D

Okay. Some pictures (finally) added.  I needed "Attaching Pictures for Dummies" help.  Thank you Barry Beam for your step-by-step instructions!

Sweet!  I feel a kinship as we both started looking at the same time :)

I haven't found "Mr. Right" yet, but then too, after a long-distance, multi-stop shopping trip last spring wherein I didn't find "him," I decided to go ahead with previously made summer plans and then take up the search again later in fall.

Exciting times!  I, too, can't wait to see your new baby.

Mike and Deb, you got a nice coach there. We traveled with the owners this past June and July in the Dakota's. It is an above average 97 and you will love it.

Alex,

If you're still "in the market" for a Foretravel, we have seen a couple of nice ones that might be right for you, but weren't exactly what we were looking for.  Remind me exactly what you're looking for -- we may have seen it!

Can't say that I ever considered our coach as "MR WONDERFUL" or "MR RIGHT".

After spending last year rebuilding and remodeling the interior and rebuilding a 5'x6' area on the roof, I was feeling upbeat about the coach and may have, on a GOOD DAY, christened it with a up beat name of endearment.

 However;

After spending this summer squeezing through the wheel wells, replacing air bags, fishing around behind the cabinets for audio/video cables, shoehorning a 46" tv in, changing all the lubricants and filters, and now repairing the brakes, I can't get myself to the "A" list of coach names.

Right now about the best pet name I can come up with is "DA BITCH"

Been there myself.  It took 4 years on this coach to get it close and the last two years in remodel at FT and have three more projects to go still.

LOL.  We may well look back on your comment as a "reality check" in the future.  We know that "stuff" happens, invariably when you're miles from home, Mecca, or anywhere else.  (See JD's post on Sunday.) A couple of our past SOBs earned and deserved the "Z" list of family-unfriendly pet names.  But we hope this quality brand -- Foretravel --with detailed maintenance records kept by a self-described "anal" diesel mechanic is our "Mr. Right" -- even as a 16 year-old teenager.  We're also aware that we will need to continue our seller's good maintenance habits, but with a lot less knowledge and ability. That, in itself, is a "reality check" right now.

We had a long search on our FT also. We called FOT on Friday and gave them a deposit on Saturday. We closed the sale two weeks later.

Lon, the first four months we named our coach "The Problem Child".  Took a while and quite a few $$ to get everything corrected.  The easy part was fixing or replacing parts..The hard part was finding the problem part...Since then, two years later, we just have minor issues, some I fix, others I have done. Have everthing just the way we like it, probably will be our last coach...(3rd Foretravel)...Hang in there...
We are only strangers until we meet; however, some of us are stranger than others
