Vent seal

I have a 14 ft. Haulmark trailer and am curious if anyone has seen a seal that looks like tape.  It is taped around the base of the crank open vent.  Next to impossible to get off.  I am cutting the edges that are rolling up and going to go around it with a good sealer.  (any ideas what would be the best sealer).
Thanks,

Probably Eternabond tape.  If it is applied correctly, about the only way to remove it is to scape it off.  WD-40 will remove the residue (with a lot of scrubbing).

Rich,
Thanks for the help.  I believe you are right.  That is some tuff stuff to get off.
Do you think it is factory, or someone else tried to seal it?

I would guess it was done after the factory.  I have read some accounts of folks with TTs that have taken every seam apart (top and sides), added Eternabond and reattached the trim strip to make sure they have no chance of leaks.  As you can see, it's really permanent stuff.  I used it on my 5-th wheel to patch a teat in the rubber roof and also the awning.  I also have a couple of patches on the Foretravel but we won't go there on what is patched and how it happened.

Rich,
I understand some things are better left unsaid.
I had never seen the etherbond before, but have to say I was impressed.  Not in a hurry to remove anymore.
How did you apply it to the awning?  Just curious.
