My Cruise Control Quit

This last summer we were driving along and I decided to set the cruise control. So I did, but nothing happened. I tried it several times but no luck.
So, any suggestions? This is a 1989 GV four speed Allison and I had to redo the wiring connection where the wires from the column go to the pin connector under the dash. This solved the problem for a few years. I redid the connection again after this last failure but no change.
Exactly the same thing has happened to Triple Nickel on his '89 GV with the same drive train as mine.
My coach is in storage 'til spring but I am gathering info to plan my attack on this issue.

Does your coach have the Bendix cruise control? I don't remember which cruise control your coach has. Some had a perfect circle vacuum cruise control and should have a vacuum pump to make the cruise control work.

Sorry Red. This is what I have and what I know about the Cruise Control.
The pic with the blue butt splice connectors is what I replaced with hardwiring that worked until last summer.
The other pics are the control unit that is mounted up under the dash right next to the steering column.

That box is a new one on me.  Don't remember any mention of that system since I've been hanging on this Forum.

What does the actual physical work in your engine compartment.  Do you have an electric servo that moves the fuel lever, or something else?

On our coach, for instance, (with the Bendix cruise control system) the work in the engine compartment is done by a pneumatic cylinder.

Will follow this thread with interest.  Hopefully some member can supply some info.

Norm,

Following my Google search hits, I answered my own question about what does the work on your system.  Looks like you have a vacuum powered servo unit as mentioned by red tractor.

At least there are still parts available for it!  ^.^d  If it was me, I'd think about grabbing that kit off eBay...

The first place to start would be to see if the vacuum pump is working and making vacuum and if the vacuum is at the servo.

Chuck, ever dealt with that vendor on Ebay?
I haven't had much luck with vendors on Ebay.
Did you know that you CANNOT post a bad review of any vendor on Ebay? I tried on a false presentation (it turned out) on the quantity of an item we wanted and bought. The seller showed four packages of jerky seasoning but the delivery came with only three packages. Then when I complained the vendor wanted me to pay shipping back AND THEN (he said) I would get a refund.

No, of course I have not dealt with that vendor.  I didn't know he/she existed before this morning.
I can tell you that I have had great luck with eBay.  I have made innumerable purchases over the years - never got burned even once.
I always use PayPal to pay on eBay.  Safer.  As is the case with many things in life, you spin the wheel and take your chances.
Of course, eBay does have a "Money Back Guarantee".  I have never had the opportunity to test that provision.

Chuck, I just reviewed that Cruise Control package and saw that the control module says MANUAL TRANSMISSION so it probably won't work with the Allison transmission on our coach.
The part number series I have says my unit can be used for manual or automatic transmissions.
Anybody ever replace the OEM unit that came with their coach with a different unit?
I can't do anything, even checking the existing components and connections on our coach until we get it out of storage in April. The coach is in a pole building 30 miles north of us. This building has neither heat nor electricity but is quite secure seeing that it is way out in the country and the owner lives right next door and all his "toys" are also stored in the building.
