Cole Hersee Battery Isolator question

good evening everyone,
As some of you may know I recently had trouble with my alternator and isolator as posted previously.

Today I received my new Cole Hersee Isolator No. 48160. I read the instructions and it states that the isolator should be mounted on a vertical panel (with the cooling fins vertical).

The one i am replacing is mounted on a vertical panel BUT the cooling fins are horizontal.

Does anyone else have there isolator installed with the fins horizontally?

I really don't want to reconfigure all the wiring and location of other electrical items under the bed.

If it was me I would mount the new one the same way as the old one.  Just my O-pinion.

(Every photo I remember seeing of isolators they were mounted with the fins going horizontally)

Frank in the engine compartment there will be air movement from radiator cooling fans and road speed. Old one lived 17 years. Probably would be better for heat dissipation, but it only works hard with the engine alternator. I would reinstall as Foretravel did. I don't think thermal siphoning would be improved much unless it was in a still (contained) area at 100% capacity. IMO

Must be a typo. Miy cole hersee  (same number as yours) is mounted on a vertical panel with the fins horizontal as well

May be a "best" vs "adequate" orientation.  I can see that mounting it vertically would provide more air flow over the cooling fins.
