1991 Grand Villa Leveller Jacks Pounding Pavement

Hi, we are midway through a 10,000 mile trip, and the last couple of time that we have used the jacks they start to repeatedly pound the ground a few times before settling down the finishing their job.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? They seem to work great apart from that. My wife wants me to stop using them until I find out if they might get stuck in the down position.

We are still very new to this, and are sure appreciating this awesome machine, but there is a learning curve, like somehow shorting our step and losing its use. Must be an inline fuse hiding somewhere, as all the normal fuses are fine :(

Thanx

Call them.  800 321-3494 or 563 724-3396.  You will probably have to wait for them to call back, but they will.

When you say "repeatedly pound the ground a few times", have they already kicked down, or are they pounding the ground before completely kicking down.

Locate the HWH hydraulic reservoir up front under the right side hood (on my 91 GV) and check the hydraulic fluid.  It may be low and not giving you continuous operation when the jacks are extended.  ----  Fritz

My HWH jacks would touch down, and then go into a leveling process.  It was sort of like they were trying to walk as each one, one at a time was pushed by the control computer.  Sort of had a trying to walk or pound down on each corner, as the computer went around the four corners.

But do check your fluid, by removing the cap, and checking the tank level with the jacks up.  I remember it was to be about 1" below the top.

Hi, not yet, was on the road until last week, and working on the coach never seems to work out with our schedule (unless critical). Just tested the jacks last night, and they still did it a bit. Always seems to resolve itself, almost like the jacks are trying to tell the ground to flatten out...
