Wiper Blades for 96 U270

Recently purchased two 26" Goodyear wiper blades at Costco.  They were on sale for $5 each, normal price $8, sales over.  They don't look like the original blades but at $5 what the heck, maybe if they don't work I could return them or just forget about it.  I don't know what FT Parts charges, but $40 is stuck in my brain from a few years ago, maybe the price for two.  They came with several plastic adapters, none of which seemed to work. The hole that is already there on the blade does not match with the hole at the arm so I drilled another hole in the metal part of the blade.  The bolt is 3/16" in diameter, so I drilled the hole slightly larger at 13/64".  Used a drill press for doing it and started with a smaller drill.  It might be possible to do this with a hand drill with the blade clamped in a vise.  The two holes need to line up accurately and be at 90 degrees to the blade.  Also don't over-tighten the bolt, the blade needs to be a little loose or able to move on the arm.

May be awhile before I have a chance to drive in the rain, but they removed the water I threw on the windshield as a test without skipping any areas.  Try at your own risk, as this is unproven for actual use in rain.

NAPA in this area carry a truck wiper blade that works just fine.  There are several bolts that come with it to fit many applications and all  I did was reuse the bolt that was on the old wiper.  I had long ago replaced the nut on this bolt with a NYLOCK nut, little tougher to start but it stays where you put it to get the right tension on the clamp.

Bought a pair of the trico wiper blade assemblies and they came today.  Labeled HD on the package and they are 26" long.

Held them up against what was on the coach and these puppies make the 25's that are on there now look like toys.  Someone obviously in the past put on something that was readily available.  Thought the wipers path currently was a little small.

These will definately add some swept area plus maybe better bug removal?

Mechanically way bigger.

Ordered refills for them also.  1/10 of a coach buck total.

Not installed yet but looks like the same mounting bolt and hut.

Real wipers.
