Gas from the line,

I have my Generator on the bench, I pulled it out to change the stuffed Bearing in the back of it,

Thats all done, Now I want to start it up before I put it back in,

Every thing is working and it is flicking over fine,  But I cant get gas to flow thru the Demand Regulator Assembly.

The solenoid is clicking, I have the car running at 3 grand on the jumper leads, So it flicks over very fast and has plenty of suction on the Carby,

It has spark at the plugs, I have gas right up to the regulator, I have about a half tank of gas connected, 70 Litre Tank,

But it wont come thru the regulator, I have taken the filter off and put my hand over the inlet to make it suck, But still no Gas coming out,

Suggestions Please,

the regulators have been known to plug up, can you get a replacement locally?

Brian, Regulators have a habit of getting gummed up with oily residue that is gunk in the propane ( gas ). Flush the regulator out with alcohol and GENTLY blow it out with compressed air.  You may have to do it several times as this GUNK can harden up like stiff grease.

A problem I had starting my Onan was that the vent on the regulator had a mud dauber's nest in it.  I cleaned it out and it fired right up.  Got that tip from the Onan service dep't.  Since then I have kept a filter wrapped around the end of the vent hose.  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

Hahahahahaha, Thats Funny,  I walked in with it in my hand to various gas places, No one had ever seen one or knew what it did,
We have liquid drawoff on our gas bottles in Vehicles here, Hot water from the motor thru the covertor changes it to gas,

I even got,  From one of the more learned Morons,  its a home made backyard installation and totally illegal, I informed him that they have made some thing like 6500 of these particular units in the USA, And are extremely safe.

The laws in the USA arent as strict as ours, What about the RV's Made here, They have exactly the same systems in them,
No, they have different systems, The ones here comply with our laws,  Duhhhh, Run Brian Run, It may be catchy, what ever is wrong with him,

I will have to get a new diaphram sent to me here by mail,
A Tree fell on the phone line last Thursday, so had to wait for a new line to be hung across the road, Got it back on today,

Cheers,

Clean right thru Gary, Pulled it all apart, Clean as a whistle, The Diaphram is quite sloppy, 23 years, It might have chucked in the towel. Expired of old age,

The Diaphram and the two Gaskets for it, I will have to buy online from the USA,

It just does not exist in this country,

Well I will have to get a new Diaphram and the two Gaskets from the USA, before I try it again,

Any suggestions for the best place to buy them,

It was just catching to fire up, but then wouldn't suck the gas thru,
