Power slow to come on

Last two stops I have experienced a slow power to the machine after I have plugged into either 30 or 50 Amp service.
I have checked @ the transfer switch, no voltage for a good 3 to 5 minutes. Once it is on every thing works just fine. This also applies to the Power Tec 10.

I don't know how the electronics of the transfer switch works, but there is a delay mechanism built in. Perhaps this is what may be malfunctioning.

Bill,

I get an immediate click the moment the cord is plugged in but the meter and green light take a minute or longer.

This more like 3 to 5 minutes. No power to the transfer relay. So of course, no green light.
1st suspected cord, but then it came on.
Peter suggest cleaning prong on cord, which I will try.
Has to be a problems in the input either @ pedestal end or coach end. BUT BOTH CORDS, 30 & 50 DO SAME THING.

any help gladly accepted

Do you have a surge protector in line before the transfer switch?

not that I am aware of John.
It would have to be an internal one, as I have not an external.
I do not recall stumbling into one in the coach. I do have the voltmeter gauge with the green & red light. Neither light comes on until I get power ( in about 3 to 5 min. ) Now I wonder, is this a surge protector?
I have used voltmeter to assure that I am getting voltage to the plug end. But this is a no load reading.
However, no voltage indication @ transfer sw.

Have tried cleaning cord ends. No joy. I did lose power running a roof air from a long extension cord as it tripped a breaker. After restoring, it took about 10 minutes before the green light/meter were up again. Like Bill, no surge protector here either. Same if using generator.

When you checked at the transfer switch, was it on the incoming line on the output of the transfer switch?
Did the transfer switch click when you first plugged in?

FYI,

Bill is away from the coach, just watched the ducks come off the elevator, cross the lobby, and swim in the fountain.

Sure he will dig into this after BBQ ribs for lunch.

The transfer switch does give a satisfying clunk/click on ours when first plugged in. It then just sits there for a while and then the light/meter goes up but without making any type of noise, just the microwave clock making it's power up chime to let us know we have power. Thought it might be some kind of delay built in but it's never the same. A couple of times it has taken over 10 minutes.

New location, same abnormally, Gen doing same thing.
I believe the input of both go directly to the transfer relays, But I get no voltage indications until out of nowhere it shows. If on generator I hear (and can see) the relay close. If on shore power the relay does not click and the power comes on.

UPDATE;
internet service Progressive Dynamics:
transfer switch does have a time delay or 3 to 5 seconds.
I have sent them a message asking about excessive time delay.

Just got word back from Progressive Dynamics;
Said if only GEN is doing it, a new board will cure it.
Also stated if that is not the case, he don't know what could be causing it

Is this the original transfer switch? If it is...it's time to get a new one. My best guess. All the best.
