There's a disturbing noise up there.

On the roof that is. You know how you blow on a bottle and get that low sound. That's the sound. It's been really windy here on the ranch with gusts up to 45 mph starting about 1:00 am last night. So not much sleep with the rocking and noise.

I covered the pipe vents with big socks to see if that would help, but no help.

I think I remember others saying the roof rack may be the source. Any thought on this noisy problem and maybe a fix?

To make matters interesting the main awning is out and staked to ground with straps. I can't put it up because of the heavy wind and rain. It's holding up well, but sure does rock the coach. The awning has the flopper stoppers installed so that's a big help.

Had a thumping noise or odd noise when going down the road on the roof.  Took 6 months to figure out that the old crank up antenna guts had worn out and it would not tighten up.  Yes, it would crank up and work and all that but was loose from the roof inward.  DAN

I had a similar noise.  Then I found a small hole in the caulk around the cb antenna- I sealed it when I sealed the roof with Pro Flex Rv  -brushed in on out of the can.  No noises now- lots of wind down here in Harlingen, Tx, so maybe that was it.
Take a good look at all of your joints, seals, etc.  Wind makes "music", but water makes a mess and $$$$ for repairs.

Good luck.

Micheal, I had the same type of noise, and finally found it to be the antenna at the rear of the coach, the bolt that hold the adjustment at the spring to coach was loose and the antenna had laid over and when the wind blew hard it would cause the antenna to virbrate and make the sound. It was a PITA to find.  I put my hand on the antenna and the noise stopped.  Adjusted the antenna and tighten the bolt and no more problem.
