Help! No Air pressure in dash gauges

-18° this AM.  Started fine.  All looks OK. Ride height good.  Brakes, emerg brake work fine. Air press gauges read zero.  Open water drain valve, air comes out.

Now what?  DW suggests a short drive to see if they start working.  We ware supposed to do 400+ miles today.

I remember reading or hearing a discussion at FOT, that the coaches of your year had some sort of electric control box that output the air pressure to your gauges.

Dr. D.H. Spoor, 2003 Grand Villa U270 posted his solution and new magic box installed by FOT.  I met him as he was selling his 8th Foretravel to retire last spring.

Can you check the temp in the dash where the lines connect to the gauges??  Could have an ice plug in there somewhere.  If it's freezing inside the dash, try a hair dryer on the gauge and connecting air lines.  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

Hope helps but since you two gauges at zero think this not pertinent.  I had a gauge fail, could not find exact replacement so went to two mechanical gauges.

I found the link, related to the Blue Box that controls what the gauges show you.

"Blue Module" Failure

Not sure if your 01 would have what the 03 that Dr. Spoor had trouble with and repaired.

Thanks Folks,

I have a pretty good idea how the air systems work.  Last outing with the coach in Dec and these gauges worked fine.  Very cold winter since then.  Since all systems that use air seemed to be functioning as expected, I was hoping for a cold weather problem.  It may still be.  After 250 miles all is OK except for the ringing in my ears.

Blue box solution seems OK.  There are pressure transducers out there, finding one that will work that is not too many $ is the problem.  Replumbing and adding direct measure pressure guages seems the way to go.  What did they do after the 2001-04 model years?

Another custom electronic component to go bd with no replacement available.  Just go back to old school I guess.

Another day or two and it will be warmer outside.  Maybe they will start working again.

I put VDO mechanical ones in then disconnected the electronic ones. Opps could not do that as it would set the level light on. So reconnected the none working gauges and wire tied. Them under the dash. Have a nice glow now at night but the mechanical ones are spit on.

Roger, if the ringing in your ears is the constant beep-beep-beep from the dash I know how it feels. Happened to me last year. Since the issue is going to be short lived, you can pop the back side of dash gauge cowl and expose all the gauge wires, etc. You will spot the bell and can unhook easily. Turn signals will be quiet as we'll. simple band-aid to get you by.
