I am sure that it gives more options for angling the inclination to deal with winds, shading. On ours, if you forget that the awning isn't extended in one of its top positions, you will end up with a nice arc in the fabric from the corner of the door as it tries to rip through the awning fabric. Don't ask me how I know I would love to get ours changed to that style... perhaps it will require a trip to Foretravel or Xtreme.
