Question on Tire Treatment

Hi folks,

I had a new set of Michelins installed when I purchased my Nimbus. I remember reading some threads warning about tire protection treatments and ensuring you stay away from petroleum products. A specific tire treatment was recommended, but I can no longer find the thread. I know this product was widely available, including at Walmart, but can't recall the product name. Wanted to try a single bottle from Wally World and then buy some in bulk online if it worked.

I know it's not much to go on, but does anyone recall this thread or a safe product to use?

Michelin recommends only soap and water.

On Cindy's recommendation I tried it. I like it. The "Forever" part of the name is misleading. I apply every 3 to 4 months. It's not shiny like the other tire products. It has a dull black look that I like better. Highly recommended.

I liked it enough that I bought a gallon. Amazon.com: 128oz. Forever Black Tire Gel Dye: Automotive

Use disposable gloves when applying and keep a pan or bucket of water and a rag handy when applying. If you clean up with water right away it comes off easy. If you let it dry not so much. :(

I plan to use a foam brush to apply next time. I don't really like the sponges that come with the product. 10 Piece Foam Brush Kit

It was recommended to us by the previous owner of our Nimbus 2006 to use Protectant 303. He said he uses it about once a month. Does this sound right?

This is (all) about not applying a product that has ANY distillate as part of the ingredients..

I don't like the price of 303 but it does an excellent job on most everything (including tires). pc

Product description says oil and silicone free.  At Barry and Cindy, Ken and Dori's recommendation/endorsement, I have been using this product.  Love the look, and seems to last 3 to 4 months.

I decided to go with the Black Tire Gel, as well. That, plus tire covers for those times when it's going to be parked for more than a couple of days, should help protect them. Looking good doesn't hurt, either! Thanks for the recommendations.
