Releasing the air Brakes,

Hi all,
I came home last night and my lovely Coach got bogged on my driveway, My fault, I didnt give it enough Oomph to get it around the corner over the slop in my drive way,
Its now bogged at a steep angle,

My questions for the learned people on here are,

Because of the angle its sitting on, It may not start up, No diesel to the motor, If this is the case,

Can I plug a compressor into the air line and pump up the Brake tanks to release the Parking brake so I can move it, Or tow it out of its current position,

Its an 1989 Grand Villa on an Oshkosh Chassis,

Thanks in advance,
Brian,
PS; Its all a new learning experience, Hahahaha
Cheers,
Brian,

Hi Brian,
On my 1997 U 320 I can add air with my small compressor. This will take the air up to about 110 pounds. And yes, it will release the brakes. I'm think yours will do the same. Best of luck.

@Brian I've done it on my U300 92'. I just feed the air from my compressor into the line used to fill the tires. I used it to raise the coach but I'm sure you could use it to release the parking brake. The only down side is that the air is not going through the air drier so you will be introducing moist air into the tanks. Not a big deal if you only do it rare occasions but I wouldn't make a habit of it.

Edit: Oh yeah good luck getting your coach out! Stupid mud!

Thanks you for that, I wasnt sure if it would, I dont have any room for errors where its parked, Im on my own, so I have to be real carefull with it,
I dont want it to get away from me, Its a very steep hill behind it,

I need to chain it to some thing solid first, Just as a precautionary measure, If you think I am worried about it, You could be right, Its quite a scary event for me,

When we towed fire trucks, we just ran an air hose from the one pulling to the dead one.

We didn't' have air driers either. Had to drain the tanks each morning.

Geeeez and I thought my driveway was tough. All I can try and offer is that if it were me, I'd be looking not only for chains to tie off to, but also the Mothers of All Wheel Chocks, four of 'em..  Boy oh boy there's a nightmare in pictures....

Thanks for all your advice, Much appreciated,  This is one Magic Forum, Its Grouse, Bonza, Awesome, Give your selves a Pat on the Back,  Your the Tops,

I pumped up the air from my shed compressor first, And had a really good think about, I now have a fitting I will carry with me that allows two air lines to be hooked together, Two clicks and its connected, I can plug into anything for air now,

I decided to chance it and roll back down the drive till it was solidly back on the concrete,
If I kept it on full left lock and it didnt slide, It would roll back onto the drive way,

Started her up, She clicked over quite easily, Not coughing, All or nothing, or wait till I get some one else up here to help me,

I cant drive two vehicles at once, Hahahaha.

Back down it went, started to slide, Careful, son, careful, Keep it slow, It slides on that angle, It wont stop sliding,

I got it back on the concrete, and after a few attempts, Mud on the drive wheels, it very slowly dragged itself over the top of the crest and onto the flat area,

It had that much twist in it, The front left hand windscreen exploded,  Bugga, Need a new one of those now,

My fault, I had cut the corner coming in,  in the dark, I wont do that again, I will make sure the drive wheels stay on the concrete,

Luckily I had filled up with Diesel on last Friday, It was very cheap at one servo, so I jumped on it, $1-50 a Litre,

So I had nearly half a tank full of diesel when I got stuck,

I think I will kick back and have a good relax tonight, Let my heart settle down, Hahahaha, I dont need this at my age, Hahahaha That was Scary, Even for me,

Congrats on a successful recovery!  Sorry about the windscreen, but it could have been a lot worse.  You should write a book some day about your adventures!

Why me, Lord, Why me, And a deep voice Boomed out of the sky at me and said, Because you Bug me, Hahahahaha

Write a book on my exploits, They wouldnt believe me,

I bought a Gemini 105MC in Fiji sight unseen, Sailed it back to Australia across three oceans to Bundaberg Qld, and then down the Tasman Sea for a 1000 miles, I have never sailed a boat like this before, I have never sailed before, Hahahahaha  I am not a sailor, But I did it, Been a motor boat man all my life tho,

Then I got thrown up on the rocks at anchor in the middle of the night, Punching holes in both hulls, From a sudden storm that hit me,
Such is life,
Currently nursing a shattered shoulder bone from falling off my Motor Cycle, Thats slowed me down a bit, Hahaha

Yes, Brian, but God did not kill you while you were having so much fun.  If you make it to the veranda of the nursing home one day just think of how much better you have lived over those desk jockeys who all they have to remember is a boring existence.  Those who have never been to sea and who have never ridden out in the wind or followed a dream would not understand those of us who have.
