Question about tire valve stem placement

The outside rear dual on my U-240 requires an angle chuck to check air pressure or add air, and it is a real PIB to access.  I imagine all rear duals are set up the same way for a good reason.  My question is why, and can I  change to a more accessible valve stem without having unintended consequences?

The present design is probably to help protect the valve stem, but that's just a guess.  Is there a better valve stem arrangement available, and what bad things will happen if I change stems?

I had to replace stems on my rear outside tires.  I had them put on short 90° stems aligned parallel to the coach.  With tire pressure monitors on the stems they were not as easy to check air pressure or add air as if they were pointing straight out.  Fixed it with an air filling tire pressure measuring thing.  Great investment.  Less than $15.

The reason they are turned in is so that if that wheel is placed on the inside you would be able to access the valve stem, but with aluminum wheels that is a none issue/
When I had new tires installed I had them turn the new valve stems turned to point out and this works great.

Tire pressure gauge, filler.  It has a clip on end for the valve stem so you don't have to hold it on.  The gauge reads the tire pressure.  Pull the trigger to add air, watch the gauge.  Or push a button to let air out.  I've compared the readings with other digital gauges and it reads the same.  Very easy to use.  Check pressure, adjust pressure.

My coach has Crossfires. Dual Dynamics  They provide a single point to fill the tires.
There's also another brand called Cat's Eyes: Link Cat's Eye® - Innovative Products for the Transporation Industry
I just had to replace the Crossfires after 23 years -  there was a date stamp on the bottom from 1990.  Purchased them from Amazon, two at $57/ea.  They have a non-adjustable preset pressure so you have to buy ones that match what you want to run your tires at.
There is some work involved in mounting the brackets - the chrome hub cover needs to have the lip cut-off.

Don't assume you can just bend the valve stem to an out facing position. Have new valve stems installed that are manufactured to face out.

There are many different angles and shapes, and most tire shops may not have what your wheel needs, so check ahead of your need to be sure they have it or can order them. Sometimes the new valve is angled too close to the center hub to easily check pressure, so care must be made to get the right one.

A chuck (air filler) meant for trucks has a straight (push on for inner tire) and a angled chuck (pull on for outer tire) all in one. Simple...

Why make a simple issue into a complex near impossible project ?

Why using the inner dual air stem replaced with the 8" model using the snuber that mounts in the outer rim, using the extension will be an issue.
And the outer dual fitted with a simple stem that is easy to access.

Thanks for clarifying that it is not necessary to live with the hard-to-access outer dual stem.  I have the push/pull air chuck, but I don't like having to use it.  If the only reason for the outer dual stem is in case the wheel has to be mounted on the inside, I will be replacing it with an easy-to-access valve stem.
