Re: Question regarding Alaskan Route Reply #25 – September 05, 2014, 09:19:18 am Quote from: Barry & Cindy – September 03, 2014, 12:36:05 amHardware cloth kept us safe on our Alaska trip. We had it behind side outside radiator grill, which we still have in place. And under the engine from side to side from transmission to hitch. We also had it around the back of the radiator hydraulic fans completely enclosing the fans and radiator. How did you attach the hardware cloth? Quote Selected
Re: Question regarding Alaskan Route Reply #26 – September 05, 2014, 11:30:16 am Cindy just reminded me that a lot of the bottom 'hardware cloth' was plastic mesh, from Lowe's / Home Depot, which were less 'scratchy' and will not rub holes like metal.Everything was held in place with plastic cable ties. We use several hundred every year and buy them in 8" & 14" lengths. We still have some of our protection in place, with plastic mesh around batteries and across rear and rear grill, and metal hardware cloth behind radiator & condenser grills. All the bottom & rad fans protection have been removed after Alaska, but dash air condenser fan is still covered as it seems vulnerable on the back side.
