When we camp in wilderness sites we take along a 20' x 8' wide piece of paper machinery web belting. It rolls up tight enough that I put a Folgers coffee can on each end and a bungee cord in the middle. The fabric is a hard permeable material that is used to convey the paper pulp across some vacuum chambers that suck the water thru the webbing. It is quite stiff, lays flat on the ground, dries quickly, cleans well, rolls up easily, is colored, and stores in the compartment behind our generator.
Also, it was FREE. Got it from a friend who gets some of this material when ever the paper making company deems it is time to replace their belting in order to reduce the chances of catastrophic failure.
