sewer odor when using the convection oven

Hopefully some one has knows the answer to my question.

I understand that while parked and when using the Fantastic vent fans there will be sewer odor unless you open several windows. Otherwise a partial vacuum draws air from the air admittance vents for the sewer plumbing.

The part this is hard to figure out is - while parked and using the convection oven (that is not vented outside) why is there still some sewer odor inside the coach? Many wives say this is true. It would seem that the fan in the convection oven merely is pulling a little  air from inside the coach then putting it back into the coach. This should not creating a partial vacuum on the sewer if admittance vents or is it coming from elsewhere? The stool always has water in it. I have tried replacing the vacuum vents for the bathroom and stool and covering them with a plastic bag. Twilight Zone?

Any suggestions??

Are you positive it isn't vented outside?  On our 2003 it vented out the roof - identical roof cap to the one for the refrigerator.

Air Admitance valve needs replaced - probably the one near the kitchen sink behind one of your pull out drawers.

The convection oven vents to outside.

Jim, before you replace the air admittance valves, you could be pulling the order out of your sink drains.  Try putting some liquid cleaner down the sink, we use TST grey water control or you can put down a scoop of Happy Camper and just add water with it.  We had exactly the same issue with a black water smell and it was the grey tank, as they can smell just as bad, if not worse!  We had already replaced the air valves about 6 months before, so knew that was not the issue.  Give it a try, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by eliminating that smell.  It solved our issues like immediately!  We now add a cup of the TST every time we flush the tanks.  Happy wife, happy life!

I don't think mine vents outside.  Definitely never had any odor using the big fan, fantastic vent or while using the convection oven. 

However if you flush the toilet while underway, everyone in the coach will pay the price!

In our SBID, the range hood blows directly into the Kool O Matic and a significant amount of air goes outside.  Could this be causing enough of a pressure difference to draw sewer gas inside?

Is it possible that you have a varmint carcass, one that died of poisoning by a previous owner, that is resting hidden somewhere on the premises?

Of course my first thought is maybe you should think about what you're cooking... But of course I'm joking. I think the idea that the smoke could be coming from your p-trap at your sink is a good one to look at. While also looking at your air admittance valves including the ones behind your washer and dryer if you have one and even if you don't if you have the plumbing for it they'll be there. The other thing would be the roof vent. They make better roof vent now than the originals.
My order was coming from my washer dryer hookups. When am solar did the lithium install,, they should have took care of the plumbing issue behind the battery since you can't move them. I had a hell of a time accessing them from the top but I did and I sealed off a poorly sealed air admitrance valve.

Gray tank water can smell worse than black tank.
